LYLG MOCK TRIAL 2020
Thursday 20 February 2020 @ 6.30pm
LYLG invites you to join us for our first exciting event of the decade “Only fools and horses work – The dangers of cowboy traders”.
We are pleased to announce that 33 Bedford Row are kindly hosting a misrepresentation and breach of implied term mock trial.
The case will look at misrepresentation and tortious interference in contract but will also highlight relevant procedures, giving useful hints and tips, which will be relevant to many practitioners.
The mock trial will be run by barristers Alex Adamou and Elizabeth Fisher with some assistance from other members of chambers acting as judges and witnesses.
Alex Adamou: Alex is developing a mixed practice and regularly represents clients in various aspects of Commercial and Civil litigation including complex, multi-day Employment discrimination/ whistleblowing, unfair and wrongful dismissal, and equal pay. Alex also covers Personal injury, Commercial and Corporate Insolvency, and acts for both claimants and respondents in RTA’s, Credit Hire and Housing Possession in the County Court.
Elizabeth Fisher: Elizabeth accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers’ practice including: general civil, property, landlord and tenant, insolvency and bankruptcy, family, and personal injury. Elizabeth enjoys appearing in landlord and tenant disputes, relating to possession and rent arrears. She has also acted in forfeiture hearings. Alongside her property work, she has been dealing with contractual disputes, debt recovery claims and enforcement. She has made successful applications to strike out, for relief from sanctions, application to set aside and other interim applications.
The seminar will be followed by an informal networking session with drinks provided by our hosts.
