Oliver Haddock
Chair
Oliver has been on the committee since 2016 and was vice chair for two years before being appointed chair in December 2019. Oliver is also the founder and chair of the London Young Professionals’ Network. With eight member organisations (including the LYLG, RICS Matrics and the ICAEW) the LYPN is designed to facilitate cross-indstury networking opportunities, increase access to training and educational programmes and support wellness initiatives. Amber Parslow
Co-Vice Chair
Amber is a Future Trainee at Baker McKenzie, commencing in 2022. Amber graduated from Cardiff University in 2017 with a First Class Honours in Law and Criminology. Amber is particularly passionate about social mobility in the legal profession and is an active member in BakerOpportunity – Baker McKenzie’s diversity focus group.Read More

Anita Hodea
Co-Vice Chair
Anita is currently studying her LPC at BBP Holborn before commencing her Training Contract at Dechert in 2020. Anita read Law and also completed her LLM in International Law and International Relations at the University of Bristol. She is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion in the legal profession and beyond.Read More

Mike Gorski
Treasurer and JLD National Committee Representative
He studied International Law at undergrad and completed his LPC (although there was a small break there to tour across Europe) before joining Berwin Leighton Paisner’s banking and insolvency team. Mike has subsequently moved to Santander, where he spent two years prior to commencing his training contract working in both Business and Wealth Management Divisions. Outside of work, Mike enjoys going to theatre and gigs, “debating” politics, any outdoor activities and planning his next skiing trip.Read More

Nicola Rubbert
Immediate Past Chair
Nicola is the in house solicitor for Nimax Theatres in the West End. Prior to joining Nimax, Nicola was a Trainee Solicitor and then an Associate at Fujioka Law in Moorgate and then went onto become Partner at Jamieson Alexander in Blackfriars. Nicola read Law at Swansea University and attended The University of Law in Guildford for the Legal Practice Course. In her spare time, Nicola enjoys going to the theatre, live music, dancing, yoga, Pilates, spinning, outdoor fitness classes, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, climbing, socialising with friends and travel. Leah Aschettino
Secretary and Charity Representative
Leah takes on the role of the Committee’s Secretary and is also the Charity Representative. The Committee is a proud sponsor of South West Law Centres and LawWorks and Leah is tasked with arranging the charitable elements of events organised the Committee. Leah read Law at Nottingham Trent University and went on to train at Greenwoods GRM. Leah qualified in 2017 into the Employment Department where she acted solely for employers. Leah now works at Slater and Gordon where she represents employees on a wide range of diverse matters. In her spare time, Leah enjoys exploring the restaurant scene in London, reading, travel and socialising with friends.Read More

Ruchir Maharaj

Ruchir has an LL.M. in Corporate Law and a Law with Business LL.B. The future of legal practice is of interest to him, having been selected as one of four to attend the global ‘LawWithoutWalls’ programme and attending Harvard Law School and Miami Law School as part of the programme. He has since engaged in several innovation focussed initiatives, including the global conference JD Horizons. As a South African national, he is also passionate about diversity and has been involved with organisations like Aspiring Solicitors and Generation Success for a number of years. He likes to throw himself out of his comfort zone – recently learning Bulgarian, going to Thailand to practice muay thai, and starting a YouTube channel.Read More

Alexandra Lima
Communications Officer
Alexandra studied Law LLB on an Academic Scholarship at the University of Kent and went on to complete her LPC and Masters in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law Moorgate Campus. During her undergraduate degree Alexandra worked on her second language, Spanish, as well as being involved in the University Athletics and Skiing teams. Alexandra joined the LYLG team as an ambassador in July 2019 and has worked on social media management and event promotion. She now has been elected to the Executive Committee as Communications Officer and will be responsible for running a new team of ambassadors, as well as building connections with legal press and other organisations. In her spare time, Alexandra enjoys practicing yoga and going to cafes as well as travelling and spending time with family and friends. Read More

Elizabeth Russell
Executive Committee Member
Elizabeth read Law with Journalism and graduated with First Class Honours before completing the LPC at the University of Law with a Distinction. She trained at a firm in Hertfordshire and qualified as a solicitor in April 2018. She was the Joint Chair of Herts JLD and nominated for the Hertfordshire Law Society Award for “Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession”. She received a special mention from the judges as runner-up. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys running and hiking. In April, she will be trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu raising money for charity.Read More

Harriet joined Cripps Pemberton Greenish as a trainee solicitor in September 2019. Before starting her training contract and after graduating from the University of Bristol, Harriet worked full time as a Commercial Real Estate paralegal whilst studying the LPC part time at the weekend. Read More
